Jenny Arnold:  A Layered Space

The Department of Art at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi is pleased to announce the exhibition A Layered Space featuring the work of Master of Fine Arts Candidate, Jennifer Arnold. The exhibition will be on view from November 6 – November 21, 2009.

The Canvas Peel is an innovative technique created by Mrs. Arnold, where photographs are printed onto canvas and then peeled away giving the images a unique translucency.  As Mrs. Arnold states, “the photographs have the consistency of a Fruit-Roll-Up (a popular children’s desert) and the strength of a shower curtain.”  She then groups the images together creating large wall installations.  This particular series, entitled A Layered Space, transforms the gallery into an extraordinary living environment.

Meet the Artist:   On Friday November 6, 2009 from 6-8pm, a reception will be held for Jennifer Arnold at the Islander Art Gallery, 4024 Weber Road, Corpus Christi, TX.
